Post  JoeMayo Sun Aug 03, 2008 10:58 am

From the RJ 08/03/08
THOMAS MCEWEN Thomas Franklin McEwen, known to all of his family and friends as "Tommy," passed away July 31, 2008, at the age of 71. He was born May 14, 1937, in Carter County, Tenn., and moved to Las Vegas in 1956. Tommy was in the first graduating class of Rancho High School in 1958. He met, and later married, Linda Kay Robinson July 10, 1960. When the Stardust Hotel opened their doors July 2, 1958, Tommy was there to greet the first guests as their bellman, and, at the age of 69, he closed the doors to the Stardust as bell captain, after 48 years of service. Tommy was truly one of a kind, and we feel blessed to have had him in our lives. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he is survived by his wife, Linda, of 48 years; his son, Mark (Marnie) of Bunkerville; his daughter, Tami (Bob) Calvano of Las Vegas; his 10 grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Mary McEwen; sisters, Betty and Marie; and his brother, Bobby. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.Dearly Departed Stardust-15

I am going to miss Tom, he was always so sweet. And he looks so young in his picture.
